Back to Agenda

Public Benefit Broadband has developed a unique Public/Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, whereby community leadership, in collaboration with public sector organizations, can configure and establish a community-based and branded broadband communications initiative through a unique alliance with applicable private sector organizations.  The purpose and objective of the PPP is to establish a community-based platform whereby advanced broadband reach, access and adoption is fostered.  Through this partnership, a greater share of the economic wealth stays in the community, localized applications and content such as e-commerce and e-government are positioned, local jobs are created, workforce advancement results and a greater quality of life is achieved.

Public Benefit Broadband is an independent, nonprofit organization created to undertake community-based broadband communication activities in the public interest that promotes economic, social and educational development for local and regional economies offering broadband communications access and economic opportunity to all.  Through ongoing relationships with industry, government and academia, Public Benefit Broadband executes research, development,  deployment, testing, training, financing and education activities within a community-centric, broadband communication solution through a specific public/private process and strategy.
