Discuss and learn how three large-scale operators
have attracted customers and managed growth using
solutions from Trango Broadband Wireless. This
informative and interactive session profiles the
successes of Colorado based WispTel Communications,
Idaho based Microserv and Washington based Pocket-Inet
Communications. Collectively, these operators
service over 5,000 wireless subscribers using Trangos
product line. John Seaman from Trango will briefly
profile each of these three ISPs and will then open the
discussion for the panel. Attendees will have the
opportunity to meet and question the panel participants
on a wide range of topics ranging from technical matters
to business success strategies.
Panelists
Travis Johnson, president of Microserv Computer Techhnologies,
started his career as a Novell ECNE and worked on many large networks in Salt
Lake City, UT. He then moved back to Idaho and began in the ISP business
in 1997. After recognizing the need for high-speed service where none
was available, he began installing wireless service for businesses in his
region. Starting with Lucent Wavelan 900 MHz products, he now has over
2,000 wireless subscribers using 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.3 GHz and 5.8 GHz.
His network now reaches over 10,000 square miles and is 99% wireless.
Todd Brandenburg is President and CEO of PocketiNet Communications.
PocketiNet, based out of Walla Walla, WA, services over 1,500 broadband
wireless customers ranging from 768k to full DS3s built on a combination of
leased fiber and broadband wireless links connecting to two GigE IP transit
feeds in the company's main Seattle POP.
Brad McGann is Director of RF Engineering for Wisper
Telecommunications, Inc which services over 2,000 broadband wireless customers
outside the Denver metropolitan area along Colorado's Front Range. Brad
has over 18 years of experience in telecommunications, including almost 15
years in wireless technologies.
John Seaman is Vice President of Technical Services
at Trango Broadband Wireless. He joined Trango in 2000 as the General
Manager of the company's video division. Prior to this, John worked at
GTE( now Verizon) where he was instrumental in the deployment of the company's
PCS Cellular network in Mexico.
