Metro-Fi Wireless Mesh technology
seems to be the "new-new" access strategy for the
wireless network operator. This technology
promises quite a bit; self provisioning, elimination of
truck rolls, zero install costs and more. That
said, is this truly a "killer" approach for mass-market
broadband wireless?
A cursory look at the numbers leads me to sketch out the following comparison
of the two technology access methods:
Although there are a lot of assumptions being made
here, lets use this, combine it with
conclusions we learned from the mornings discussion on
the WiMAX financial plan and bring in
industry experts to springboard and analyze this topic.
