A Hybrid Wireless Last-Mile Access Strategy?
March 14, 2006: 9:30 AM

Back to Agenda

Broadband over power lines (BPL) delivers broadband Internet connections to your home or office just like cable, DSL and WiMAX.  The difference is that BPL brings the Internet connection over a municipalities' utility power lines.  Using BPL, municipalities now have ways of leveraging their power grid in ways previously unheard of.  In addition to providing high-speed Internet, BPL technology also enables utilities to lower costs, offer new services and create new sources of revenue.

Broadband Horizons is the first company in Texas, and one of a handful in the nation, to successfully launch broadband Internet service over power lines, a technology commonly referred to as BPL.  Today, Broadband Horizons is a leading provider of BPL and other wireless technology services to small and medium-sized municipalities throughout the United States.
